Lose Weight The Healthy Way

The majority of the people living in the western world are overweight, some more than others. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why this is, yet some people will always find excuses by blaming it on the lack of time they have to exercise, the lack of funds to buy fresh healthy foods, or blaming it on their genetics. These are alibis and they will keep you trapped in your current situation unless you realize that your current situation is a result of your own thinking. You are responsible for the outcome of your health, weight, happiness, and life in general!

In order to lose weight the healthy way you must be willing to take full responsibility of your thinking, the choices that you make, and the actions that you take. My personal recommendation is to focus on achieving health rather than losing weight. When you are focused on weight loss you are telling your subconscious mind  that you are fat. When you focus on attaining high levels of health, weight loss will be a result of that.

Here are a few simple steps to losing weight the healthy way!

1. Check your mindset! 

For you to successfully lose weight you must have the right mental attitude. Know that you can achieve any physic that you desire, the power is in your hands. Use creative visualization to attain your desired body weight. By placing the image of the “future you” into you mind several times a day, you will start re-programming your subconscious mind. This image will become a part of you and your subconscious mind will start working for you rather than against you. So, think positive and start programing your mind with what you want and not what you don’t want!

2. Are you burning the proper fuel? 

What we eat and drink plays a major role in achieving optimal weight and health! In the weight loss phase I recommend eating a plant based raw food diet that consists of fresh fruits, vegetables, leafy greens and some nuts & seeds. These foods nourish, energize, clean,  strengthen and tone the cells of our body. Raw foods also leave behind the least amount of metabolic waste.

 When we eat animals products (meat, fish, dairy etc.) we are creating a putrefactive environment in our body that attracts parasites and creates acidosis. When the body becomes acidic it holds onto water, pulls calcium from it’s skeletal structure and tissue, causes thyroid and other endocrine gland imbalances and brings your bodily functions out of balance. Making fresh juices and smoothies are also very beneficial as they contain lots of essential vitamins, simple sugars, enzymes and mineral elements that are vital in achieving optimal health.

3. Move your body! 

If you want to attain a fit, slim, and healthy body you must move it! Many people that have seated jobs tend to accumulate access weight due to the lack of movement. Don’t tell me that you’re too old or have no time to exercise. Remember that these are alibis. Find the time! Change up your routine! The time you would usually spend watching television every evening after dinner, use to go for a jog or a walk around the neighborhood. There is always a way!

The #1 exercise that I recommend you to do is rebounding! Invest in a fitness trampoline! I’m not talking about the big trampoline that you use to jump on in your friends backyard when you were a kid, i’m talking about a small fitness trampoline that is easily portable and can be set up anywhere in your home. Rebounding is fun and very effective in moving the lymphatic system, improving circulation and tightening and toning your cells! Bouncing on the fitness trampoline for 20 minutes is more effective than 1 hour at the gym! 

4. Get good sleep! 

Sleeping is very important when it comes to feeling physically, mentally and emotionally balanced. If you have troubles sleeping you can use herbs and herbal teas to relax yourself and induce deeper rest. Our body is always repairing, regenerating and upgrading itself while we are sleeping. Especially between the times of 10pm – 2am. That’s the time when the adrenal glands recharge themselves, therefore I recommend going to bed early. The more well rested you are, the more energy you will be able to invest in your daily activities. I’ve noticed that a lack of sleep causes us to reach to stimulants such as coffee, sodas, and stimulating foods such as meat, processed foods and products containing white refined sugar and other chemical additives.

 5. Believe in yourself! 

Last but not least it’s important to remember that you must be consistent and have patience. Believe in yourself and enjoy the transformation process, quiet the mind, learn to appreciate and love yourself, and start living in the present moment. This holistic approach to losing weight is more about gaining health. So believe in yourself and remember that you can attain the body of your dreams by applying these lifestyle changes into your life.
